Sexy Mallika in another Hollywood film

American film called The Aquarian Gospel.

The film is based on Jesus Christ's life (especially his early years) and will be directed by Australian filmmaker, Drew Heriot, who earlier directed the smash hit docu-feature, The Secret.

There has been a belief that Christ, between the age of 13 yrs and 30 yrs, traveled through India, Tibet, Persia, Greece and Egypt. Mallika would be playing the role of Saraswati, one of Yeshua's (Jesus) loyal friends whom he meets while he travels through India.

Interestingly, Mallika even played an Indian princess from the period era in The Myth which bombed at the box-office. In fact, Mallika's appearance after all the hue-and- cry was just a blink and a miss kind of a role.

Well, let's see if Madame Sherawat has a better and bigger role this time around.

Language is no problem for Sophie Choudhury

Very few actresses can boast of being an all rounder, but Sophie Choudhury is one and few know about it. What’s more she chooses to be very humble refraining to say anything about her achievements and talents. We did not know that Sophie was a master in not one but seven different languages—French, Italian, Urdu, English, Spanish, Arabic and Hindi. And she does not speak Hindi with an accent. In fact Sophie speaks Hindi so fluently, it is difficult to believe that she has been born and brought up in the UK.

Sophie said that learning different languages made her familiar with the culture and tradition of that nation. Besides it always helped communicating with people in their language. It made her feel at home even though she would be in a foreign land.

Sophie first made her mark has a VJ and is all set to establish herself in Hindi films.

Actress Amisha was to play the barber’s wife

Amisha Patel recently opted out of Priyadarshan’s latest film, Billo Barber which she had signed with much fanfare as she felt the size of the role wasn’t befitting her talent. The Shah Rukh Khan-Irrfan Khan starrer is a remake of the Malayalam film, Katha Parayumbol and revolves around a humble village Barber (Irrfan) and his superstar friend (SRK). Amisha was to play the barber’s wife. She felt that the film’s focus was the friendship between SRK and Irrfan’s characters. The latest rumour doing the rounds is that it was because of Aditya Chopra’s friendly advice that she backed out of the film.

Apparently, Aditya is a friend, philosopher and guide. She has also signed a three-film deal with Yash Raj Films so they want to make sure her career moves are just right and should not affect their future projects with her. Amisha’s desire to work with SRK is intact and the buzz is that in one of the YRF projects, she may just play his leading lady. And anyway, she’s doing a special dance number in Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi.

Amisha certainly seems to be giving her almost extinct career a new lease of life. Well, it definitely pays to be in the good books of a filmmaker who has one of the most viable production houses and boasts of hits like Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge and Chak De in recent times.

First time I’ve actually and truly fallen in love: Deepika

Post Om Shanti Om (OSO) how has your life changed?
All this is very new for me. My father (bandmintom champ Prakash Padukone) was also a celebrity. But we were never exposed to much media coverage. Before I went into the modeling profession I did go into my dad’s profession it was the expected thing. I played bandminton at the national level. But I realized my heart was set on modeling.Movies weren’t even in my range of vision. But after two years of modeling I started getting film offers I was only 18 then. I didn’t want to jump into anything.

What took you down south?
You mean my Kannada film Aishwarya? I am from Karnataka and it was directed by a young and talented man Indrajit Lankesh. And I was paired with a huge Kannada star Upendra.

Did you speak your own lines?

Yes I did. I learnt Kannada in school. Farah Khan had already offered me OSO. But we were to shoot a year later. So I did the Kannada film. You remind me of Aishwarya Rai.
I’d take that as a compliment. I grew up watching her. When I was in school I remember how thrilled I was when she won Miss World. Ash and Sushmita are people I’ve admired.

You’re still young. Don’t you miss doing the normal things?
I do the normal things. I’ve life away from my work. But yes, I definitely feel a lot older than girls my age.I started working and moved out of home at a very young age. I tried to work out of my home- town Bangalore. But like it or not Mumbai is the mecca for the glamour and entertainment industry.

Do you miss Bangalore?
In Mumbai I definitely miss my family. For me ordinary things like having warm food on the table or getting the car ready to leave for the day are not so easily obtainable. Like all girls I’d like to see my parents when I wake up in the morning. That isn’t possible when you’re living alone.

Is Mumbai a lonely city?
No definitely not. I’ve lots of friends in Bombay. And I haven’t changed for them, nor they for me.Yes, certain people around me have changed. But people who are really important to me, that’s my parents and my childhood friends are with me.One needs to have friends outside one’s profession to interact and to share one’s life with. Otherwise I’m not the party-hopping kind.

What do you and Ranbir talk about?
Well…we do know what’s going on in each other’s careers. But otherwise we try to keep cinema out of our conversation. We try not to get into one another work space.

It’s amazing but both of you started your careers in Hindi as fierce rivals in Saawariya and OSO?
That rivalry was more media-created than anything else. Comparing me with Sonam was so uncalled-for. We come from two totally space. We started differently. She assisted Mr Sanjay Bhansali. I come from the modeling world. And our debut vehicles are so different. Fortunately we were too involved with our own projects and had no time to think of each other as competition.

You started with Shah Rukh Khan as a co-star. Can it get any bigger?
I hope it does. Initially I was very nervous about working with him. But Farah and Shah Rukh made it very comfortable for me. We did readings together, we met socially so that we were comfortable when we faced the camera. He’s again someone I grew up watching. You have acquired the reputation of being extremely choosy. Yes. Every project takes up so much of your time. You’ve to be sure of what you’re doing. So often I say no because I don’t have the time. I meet every director who wants to meet me. I do consult my parents. It would be unfair to distance them from my career just because they aren’t part of the entertainment industry. But the final decision is mine.Your dad is a celebrity in his own right.Yes but nothing to do with the entertainment industry. During his time sportspersons didn’t do endorsements, advertisements. I’m really close to both my parents.Ever since I moved to Mumbai it’s a different kind of relationship with them. The fact that we live in different cities has brought us closer. I feel much closer to them. Sometimes I feel bad at the unwanted attention they get because of me.They’re bombarded with all kinds of questions about me. It wasn’t like that during their times. My parents are very simple reason.

Is the image of the boyfriend deserter hurtful?
The media needs to be a little restrained. I am a simple girl and from a respectable family. And loose talk about me harms my reputation. One day like any other girl I intend to settle down and have children. How would those write-ups look at that time? I’m so glad I’ve found a man who comes from the same space and understands the pitfalls of sensational journalism.I feel after a point no one will take these write-ups making a tamasha out of my life seriously.

Why did you and Ranbir decide to go public about your mutual feelings?
Because this is the first time I’ve actually and truly fallen in love. Being in love is the lovelist feeling. When two people are getting close they need time to understand one another.I’ve reached an age when I can’t be in a frivolous relationship. Linking me to so many men at a time when I wasn’t sure about my feelings was unfair.

Did the earlier link ups collapse because of excessive attention they got?
Quite possible. At the end of the day it was just destiny that I was meant to be with Ranbir. And we’re very happy together.

Do you get time to be with one another?
We try to be together as much as possible. We did a film together Bachna Ae Haeseon. That’s when we got close. We had met and interacted earlier. But we didn’t get a chance to know each other well enough. He was busy with his film. I was busy with mine. We were both under all kinds of pressure. Everything became very messy. In Australia when we shot together we started afresh. We almost met like two new people. There was no baggage to be carried forward from the past. Because even in the past we didn’t part bitterly

Hot Bollywood Actress Katrina kaif :I have recently started enjoying

Katrina, who shot a music video with Sanjay Gupta for Vijay Mallya's Royal Challengers, said that she enjoyed that experience quite a lot.

"I have started enjoying the experience of dancing especially after the success of Race. Earlier it was not so! But today whether it is to dance to cheer for the IPL team or do it for the movies,

I have begun to enjoy it. It helps me unwind on screen and on stage", says Katrina.

Talking about her stage experience, she adds, "Yes I have recently started enjoying dancing on stage too. I realized that when I performed for the Zee Awards. Earlier I neither had songs nor the confidence to perform on stage. Now I have a bit of both."

Paz Vega Biography:

Paz Vega was born on January 2, 1976, in Seville, the Spanish town famous for Carmen and singing barbers. The slender and athletic Paz first dreamed of being a sports star and later took interest in politics. At age 15, all it took was a day at the theater to cement her ambitions; a performance of La Casa de Bernarda Alba set her sights on acting for good.

At 16, Paz left school and patiently waited for the prestigious Centro Andaluz de Teatro acting school to accept her. After two years at the acting school and another two studying journalism, Paz moved to Madrid, where she sought fame. She changed her name to Paz Vega (her grandmother's last name) and worked in bars while auditioning for every acting job she could.

Paz's first big jobs came on TV, where she appeared in three episodes of the Spanish series Menudo es mi padre, and in two other series, Mas que amigos and Companeros. In 1999, Paz got her first major movie role in Zapping, in which she played a hot sex-loving vixen who snagged another woman's husband. That same year, she had a minor part in Sobrevivire (I Will Survive), which got people noticing her.

Paz then returned to television with the career-making role of Laura in the series, 7 vidas. It was this role that endeared her to all of Spain. Filmmaker Mateo Gil liked Paz so much that he gave her a major part in his movie Nadie conoce a nadie (Nobody Knows Anybody, 1999). As she juggled TV and movies, she quickly learned the inner workings of the film industry.

Movie director Julio Medem saw her potential and asked Vega to leave her TV role to dedicate herself to his new project. His film would be provocative, steamy and sensual, so he needed just the right actress. In 2001, Lucia y el sexo (Sex and Lucia) hit theaters. It told the story, in graphic and lurid detail, of an innocent girl who slowly discovers her sexuality. Paz appeared nude, acting with her whole body in a gush of sensuality. Sex and Lucia became an international hit and won Paz a Goya, Spain's biggest movie award, for Best New Actress.

With the success of Sex and Lucia, Vega was courted by the biggest names in the film industry. Spain's most important director, Pedro Almodovar, gave her a part in his award-winning film Hable con ella (Talk to Her, 2002). Soon after, she was seen in the musical romantic comedy, El otro lado de la cama (The Other Side of the Bed, 2002).

After two more movies, including a rendition of Carmen in 2003, Paz started being coveted abroad. James L. Brooks, of The Simpsons and As Good as It Gets, signed her for his new directing project, a comedy called Spanglish, with Adam Sandler and Tea Leoni. This movie will no doubt raise her profile in the U.S. and she will hopefully be seen in more American movies. After Spanglish, Paz can be seen in 2005's Un angel en la oscuridad in the pipeline.

Paz Vega currently lives in Madrid, Spian with husband Orson Salazar.

Halle Berry Biography:

Born on August 14, 1966, in Cleveland, Ohio, Halle Maria Berry and her older sister, Heidi, were raised by their mother, Judith, a psychiatric ward nurse. Halle Berry's father walked out on the family when she was only 4 years old.

Although living in a single-parent household was somewhat tough, Halle's mom managed to move the family out of the inner-city neighborhood and into the suburbs of Cleveland. But because the neighborhood was predominantly white, Halle and her sister were treated cruelly because of their dark skin.

Determined not to let the color of her skin get the best of her, Halle Berry made it a point to make friends, and her dream of becoming an actress already began to surface.

By the time Halle Berry reached high school, she was a cheerleader, an honor society member, editor of the school paper, and class president. Not surprisingly, she was crowned her high school's prom queen. In 1983, when she was only 17 years old, Halle's then-boyfriend entered her name in the Miss Teen Ohio beauty pageant. Once again, it's no surprise that Halle Berry got to wear the crown in that competition.

But it didn't stop there: Halle Berry won many other high-profile competitions, including Miss Teen All-American, Miss USA (first runner-up) and Miss World. Once she was done raking in points by winning pageant after pageant, Halle continued her education at Cleveland's Cuyahoga Community College in 1986, studying broadcast journalism.

Unfortunately, Halle Berry didn't complete her degree -- she left the program to pursue a more glamorous career in modeling and started studying acting in Chicago. Although Halle Berry auditioned for Aaron Spelling for a part in Charlie's Angels and didn't get the role, Spelling encouraged Halle to pursue her dreams of being an actress.

Halle Berry moved to Manhattan, where she immediately landed her first TV gig in Living Dolls. Although the show was short-lived, Halle was more determined than ever to become a great actress.

Halle Berry got her first big break in 1991 when Spike Lee cast her as a crack-addicted woman in Jungle Fever, costarring Samuel L. Jackson. Halle was so determined to execute the role perfectly that she actually interviewed real addicts and stopped bathing 10 days before filming the racially charged film.

Soon after, Halle Berry reverted to television with a recurring role on the popular prime-time soap opera Knots Landing in 1991.

But the big screen was where Halle Berry wanted to be and she soon landed another part, this time playing Damon Wayans' exotic girlfriend in the film The Last Boy Scout (1991), which also starred Bruce Willis.

In 1992, Halle landed a starring role opposite none other than the man of comedy himself, Eddie Murphy, in Boomerang. In 1993, she married Atlanta Braves right fielder David Justice. Unfortunately, the marriage was short-lived and they divorced in 1996.

Next, Halle Berry decided to take a lighter acting job and starred in the 1994 movie The Flintstones, but her riveting big-screen role as an illiterate addict who abandons her child in a garbage can in 1995's Losing Isaiah shot her star up high.

Unfortunately for Halle Berry, she missed a great opportunity when she passed up the lead role in the film Speed, which ultimately worked wonders for Sandra Bullock's career.

Other movies that Halle Berry starred in include Executive Decision (1996), Race the Sun (1996), B*A*P*S (1997), Bulworth (1998), and Introducing Dorothy Dandridge (1999), for which she won a Golden Globe and an Emmy for Best Actress in a Miniseries or TV movie.

Hella Berry Quotes:

On Dorothy Dandridge: "...You have to find a way to be sad on every day, in every scene, in every moment. And always try to hide the sadness. And (then) you'll get the essence of who she was."

"This moment is so much bigger than me, This moment is for Dorothy Dandridge, Lena Horne, Diahann Carroll... It's for the women that stand beside me, Jada Pinkett Smith, Angela Bassett, Vivica A. Fox... and it's for every nameless, faceless woman of color that now has a chance, because the door tonight has been opened." - During her Oscar acceptance speech.

On choosing both serious and popcorn-movie roles: "There's art and there's commerce. You have to find a way to mesh the two. It's important to do the little movies just for the love of the art. But it's those big movies that take you around the world and make you globally famous."

I'll never get married again, and I always hate to say never to anything, but I will never marry again.

I was black growing up in an all-white neighborhood, so I felt like I just didn't fit in. Like I wasn't as good as everybody else, or as smart, or whatever.

Blackness is a state of mind and I identify with the black community. Mainly, because I realized, early on, when I walk into a room, people see a black woman, they don't see a white women. So out of that reason alone, I identify more with the black community.

I spent a lot of time with a crown on my head.

The worst thing a man can ever do is kiss me on the first date.

I don't see a white woman. I see a black woman, even though my mother is white [her father Jerome is black]. Knowing that has made my life easier, I think.

I want to be the next Spike Lee. I want to help other black folks to get into Hollywood and be successful in Hollywood.

What is my real purpose here? I've looked at what I do. I make believe and make movies. I entertain people and get paid for it. Sometimes it seems like such a shallow existence. How insignificant in the scheme of life.

"When I was a kid, my mother told me that if you could not be a good loser, then there's no way you could be a good winner. And I hope to God I never see these people again." - on accepting her Razzie Award for Worst Actress

I never wanted to be a model. My modeling career was nothing but a stepping stone to my acting career and that's all I ever saw it as. A pointless rock in the river that has to be stepped on in order to get to the meaningful oasis of acting.

I guess you could say I have bad taste in men. But I no longer feel the need to be someone's wife.

(On receiving a film festival award while pregnant) I am three times the girl I used to be. This is the second red carpet where I didn't have to think about sucking in my stomach - because I can't!
