Sexy Mugdha Godse signs three film contract with PPC

She is yet to make her big screen debut (in Madhur Bhandarkar directed Fashion) but popular ramp-walker and model, Mugdha Godse, already has quite a few biggies in hand. She has been signed by Percept Pictures Company (PPC) under a three film contract and is now all set to be working with some of the bigwigs of the film industry. Over to the soft spoken Mugdha who continues to maintain her poise even on the face of such a huge leap in her just-started Bollywood career.

"Don't be surprised because that's the way I function", replies Mugdha on being quizzed around how, unlike her contemporaries, she isn't quite heard or spoken about before her debut release Fashion, "That's not my style. For some it may be a way to keep making headlines but I would rather have everything firmly in place before I let people know about it."

The Percept offer appears to be quite an event in her professional career that is kicking off, isn't it? "True, I am happy that the buzz and hype about Fashion has been making quite a few people sit up and notice the project. PPC were aware about the progress that Fashion was making and were seemingly cued in about my performance too", reveals Mugdha who is said to be playing an integral part of Fashion even with Priyanka Chopra and Kangana Ranaut being relatively senior actors in the film.

Since she has been offered three films, would she be playing a lead role in each of these films? "Absolutely", Mugdha is quick to react, "The films that I am doing with PPC would have me in a lead-lead kind of a role. Also, since the production house has 10-15 films in the pipeline, the role that I would eventually end up doing would be by mutual consent between me and the director. I should like the film and the director should also find me suitable enough for the part."

How about working in films outside PPC? Informs Mugdha, "The good part is that this is a non-exclusive contract. In plain and simple terms, this means that I don't have to do their three films in a row and in the interim can work in a film outside PPC as well."

PPC has directors like Priyadarshan, David Dhawan, Shimit Amin, Nagesh Kukunoor and Madhur Bhandarkar amongst others on board. Any favourites when it comes to choosing the filmmakers with whom she would want to work with? "These are the best in the business so you can't really choose one over another", says Mugdha diplomatically, "And I said earlier, it just can't be me choosing a project or the director. It has to be mutual."

After the critical success of Swami, Ganesh Acharya is back with his next directorial venture - Money Hai Toh Honey Hai, an out and out commercial flick. The movie is scheduled to be released on 25th July 2008, under the banner of ‘Big Screen Entertainment’.
It has been produced by Kumar Mangat, while Vishal Bharadwaj and Sameer are the music director and lyricist, respectively. The star cast of the film includes Govinda, Hansika Motwani, Manoj Bajpai, Celina Jaitley, Aftab Shivdasani, Ravi Kishan, Upen Patel, Kim Sharma and Isha Koppikar. Money Hai Toh Honey Hai is a film revolving around the life of six individuals - Bobby (Govinda), Lalaji (Manoj Bajpai), Gaurav (Aftab Shivdasani), Manik (Upen Patel), Ashima Kapoor (Hansika Motwani) and Shruti (Celina Jaitley).
Bobby is a carefree and easy going guy, who has run away from his home, in order to prove himself. Lalabhai is an ordinary guy, who one day discovers that he has won a lottery of Rs 1 crore. He invests the money in various businesses, only to lose everything once again and come back on the road. Gaurav is a copy writer who gets fired from his job, mainly for his honesty. Manik is a struggling model, trying to make his mark in the glamour world. He sleeps with a middle-aged fashion designer, in the hope of getting that one ‘big break’.
Ashima Kapoor is a successful TV star, however even she is not happy. The reason is that she wants to play the main lead in films. Last, but not the least, we have Shruti, another struggler, this time in the world of dress designing. All of them are leading their separate lives, till they get a call one day, from K.K. Jaiswal (Prem Chopra). Jaiswal tells each one of them that he wants to give them his estate, valued at Rs 1000 crore. Though all of them ignore him initially, later, they decide to give it a try. One by one, they reach a resort, with the dream of being the owner of the resort, along with textile industries.
This is when they realize that Jaiswal has called not one, but all six of them at the resort. Here, they meet Parag Batra (Ravi Kishan). Jaiswal is his uncle and Parag is the one who has managed the former’s estate for so many years. Now, Parag considers himself to be the rightful heir of Jaiswal Group and he is determined to get back the same from the six strangers.
When the six of them reach the resort, he begins to put his plan into action i.e. of instigating them against each other. What will happen now? Will Bobby, Lalaji, Gaurav, Manik, Ashima Kapoor and Shruti manage the estate together or keep on fighting amongst themselves? What will Parag do? To know the answers, all we have to do is, wait for the release.
