Adam Richard Sandler was born 9 September 1966 is an American actor, comedian, musician, writer, musician and film producer. Adam Sandler was born in Brooklyn, New York to a Jewish family, the son of Judy, a kindergarten teacher, and Stanley Sandler, an electrician.

Sandler played Theo Huxtable friend Smitty on The Cosby Show from 1987 to 1988. He was discovered by comedian Dennis Miller, who caught Sandler's act in Los Angeles. Sandler's firststarring role was in 1989 in the movie Going Overboard.

Eminem has reportedly landed a role in Adam Sandler’s new movie Funny People.

The We Made You star, who is no stranger to acting following the success of his own feature length flick 8 Mile is now set to star in the Judd Apatow directed flick.

Apatow told MTV Movies US blog: "I was scared to pitch jokes to him then I realised his songs are as nasty as anything that has ever been spoken. There is no way to offend him."

Em is set to star alongside Sandler, as well as Seth Rogen, Jason Schwartzman, Sarah Silverman, Leslie Mann, Eric Bana and Jonah Hill.
